Do you remember the last wedding you went to? Maybe you were a bridesmaid, an usher or perhaps part of the bridal party. How do you remember that day? Was it relaxed? Fun? Enjoyable? Do you remember much about the photographer? What were they like? Bossy? Discreet? Funny? How did they make you feel? What are your overall memories from that wedding?Read More
Hello I'm Lou and I am the founder/photographer at Louise Jacob Photography. I'm a wedding photographer in Cheshire and I've been capturing authenticity at weddings for the past 4 years. I am excited by documenting weddings without any direction from myself as your photographer. I am passionate about delivering images that are un orchestrated and real. My style is unposed candid documentary, you may also know my style as wedding photojournalism or reportage. My belief, is that without this realness portrayed in your images, do your photographs have meaning? And if you don't have any meaning in your pictures then what are you left with?Read More
I can't put into words how much I absolutely love this photograph! A quiet moment nestled in amongst the hustle and bustle of bridal prep. A moment that Claire probably wasn't even aware was being made into a picture. A moment that could very easily have been missed.Read More
When I first started out in Weddings somebody said to me that candid wedding photography would never take off. Nobody in their right mind would want to pay for pictures that their friends and family could take with their cameras. Shooting a wedding from the guests perspective? 'Madness' they said. So from that day on I began my mission, to seek out like minded couples who were keen to move away from the from the more traditional 'posed' photography that made them feel like their day was more of a photo shoot rather than their wedding.Read More
Documentary Wedding Photography. Capturing raw, emotional un-orchestrated moments at weddings. It's what I breath for! It's totally what makes me tick and if you choose me to be your wedding photographer, it's what makes you tick too.Read More
Very rarely do I get to ride in the car with the Bride and Groom on the way to their ceremony! For H and Mike though, this was exactly how they wanted to do things and I LOVE THAT! They completely broke tradition and did it their way!Read More
I adore this image. I took it at Sonia & Rob's incredible Indian-Fusion wedding at Colshaw Hall back in October I love it so much that I made it my website front page. The whole day was utterly epic from beginning to end but during the evening reception they had booked UK Modus (the most fantastic Dhol players I've ever heard) to play Bangra sets for them and their guests. The dance floor was electric, it was jam-packed, the atmosphere was buzzing and the music was insane!
I decided that I wanted to portray that atmosphere in my images, so I slowed down my shutter speed to capture some motion blur and I got right in on the dance floor action which I always do because that's where I can get the best results! This image is in no way perfect, it's not even in focus, but sharpness is a bourgeois concept and I don't care. It's vibrant. It's different and I like different. I like that I feel this image rather than just see it. If I was the bride I would have this printed huge on my wall.
I worked with some amazing talent that day, Love Luella Photography assisted me, Hannah Williamson Flowers did the beautiful floral designs, RTP Films were so much fun and produced the most amazing wedding film and the Colshaw Hall staff were just perfection!
Being a Documentary Wedding photographer means that I get to create art every time I am at a wedding. Yes I capture moments, but I also love getting really creative too. If you decide you'd love a documentary approach to your wedding give me a shout because I would love to hear all your plans and join you on the most amazing ride of your life!
