Holly + Richard // 22nd June 2019
Louise & Garreth, I genuinely can’t believe it’s been a week since since your amazing wedding! Here are your wedding highlights, I hope you love them - I can’t wait to share them all with you!
Louise & Garreth married at St Wilfrids RC Church in Northwich and had their wedding reception at the stunning Merrydale Manor (Sister venue to Colshaw Hall) in Over Peover in Cheshire!
A gorgeous wedding with gorgeous people and equally gorgeous staff! It was amazing to work with Kirsty from Merrydale, Toastmaster Ken and Under The Covers wedding band!
It was such an honour and privilege to be part of this incredible day!!
Nestled away in beautiful Andalucía, is Castillo de la Duquesa - an 18th century Fortress standing proudly on the coast! Such a beautiful place for a wedding!
When Tracy and Andy told me they were getting married here I’ll be honest I did squeal a little bit (…ok maybe a lot!) Tracy and Andy are two of the loveliest people I have ever met and I am super lucky to be able to call them my friends! To spend the day with them surrounded by their family and friends, with my boys, in such an idyllic location was an absolute honour!
The day was phenomenal from the calmness of the morning preparations right through to the amazing Flamenco dancers throwing down some incredible moves on the beach in the evening! Tracy & Andy provided beach games for the children which went down a treat and served delicious tapas for dinner.
With sand between our toes and hearts full of love and laughter, this wedding really was spectacular!
The hugest congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Dean! I wish you a future full of happiness together!
….. Now if we can just rewind it all please I’d like to do it again!!
If you’d like to find out about my availability for your wedding, please contact me I would absolutely love to hear your plans!

Mandy & Paul’s gorgeous Abbeywood Wedding was quite possibly one of the most laid back events I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing! Elegant in style and relaxed in nature, the whole day was amazing from beginning to end. We had incredible weather too - from beautiful blue skies and gorgeous low winter sun to torrential hailstorm downpours and bouncing rain all in the space of a few hours!
Mandy & Paul married in the drawing room in Abbeywood’s stunning house and their wedding breakfast & evening reception followed in the iconic Glasshouse which Mandy and her daughters dressed beautifully with a peacock theme.
Congratulations Mandy & Paul! Here are your wedding day highlights :)
How long have you been together? Eight years.
Why did you choose Abbeywood for your wedding? We chose Abbeywood because it’s a beautiful venue which offers so many choices for your wedding ceremony and it’s amazing gardens. Abbeywood is also local to us.
Tell me about your outfits and accessories - what did you love about them? : I wanted a dress with a difference, nothing traditional and very glitzy, which is just what I love. My hair accessory was hand made to match and my necklace and earrings were from Ted Baker - along with my shoes - chosen because of the colours. Ted Baker uses a lot of rose gold which tied in lovely with my dress.
Paul’s suit and shirt was also from Ted Baker.
What made you choose your decor and styling? Tell me about your flowers/florist: Our peacock theme was chosen by myself (Mandy). I wanted a different theme from the usual choices as again I love different and wanted ‘Elegant’. All the displays/decor and bouquet were made by myself and the venue decorated by myself with my two eldest daughters.
What was your first dance song and why? Our first dance was by Ellie Goulding ‘How long will I love you ‘, a lovely tune and words.
Did you have any entertainment? : A pianist played as we entered the ceremony, during the signing of register and on our way out of the ceremony. He then went onto play throughout our welcome drinks, canapés and wedding breakfast.
What was your favourite part of the day and why: ALL of it, it was just perfect and relaxed as planned.
What was it like working with Louise Jacob Photography? Lou is amazing, after researching and reading about photographers for weddings we contacted approximately 8, and for many reasons Lou stood out. She always contacted us promptly, even though we never met prior to our wedding day I felt I had known her for years, such a lovely lovely lady!
We loved the way Lou does a lot of natural shots, this way the guests were at ease, as well Lou shot the selected guests in posed photos too. Lou exceded our expectations and will certainly be recommending her.
Do you have any tips for future brides and grooms? Make it just the way you want it!
It’s your special day and don’t let anyone influence your decisions!

The above photo was taken at the gorgeous Abbeywood Estate in Cheshire. Given that Abbeywood is on Chester Road (the same road I live on!) I’m surprised that this was my first time there. I do love to travel so I shoot weddings just about anywhere - something I amazingly lucky to do and extremely grateful for. But shooting a wedding on the same street as me…. well that’s just awesome!
Mandy and Paul married at Abbeywood on Sunday 10th March and the image above was during their first dance as husband and wife. I love getting creative at weddings, the bokeh balls (circles) were just tiny fairy lights held up close to my camera lens. I had a Godox AD200 on a light stand to the left of me which lit up the bride and groom and also their guests behind them. When I shoot an image, I am always looking for moment, light and composition. I love seeing the guests looking on in the background, I really like how the fairy lights draw the viewers eye into the couple and I love the richness of colour and pop of light from the left which adds depth to the scene.
If you’re planning a wedding at Abbeywood Estate and would like to talk about documentary wedding photography, please get in touch because I would love to hear all your plans!
